Creative Photography (Adults & Teens)
David Gentry, Artist
Are you new to taking pictures? Have you been taking pictures forever, but wish you knew more about the finer points of photography like: cropping in the camera, f-stops, depth of focus, shutter speeds and how to manipulate light? We’ll photograph inside and out to gain experience — using people, streetscapes, and rural landscapes as our subjects. All cameras welcome, 35 mm and digital. Bring your own or borrow a digital Studio camera. We will review our photographs weekly and learn how to process them on the Studio’s computers.
Mondays, April 12 – June 7, 10 am – 12:30 pm
Tuition Fee: $75 (8 weeks, no class May 31)
Drawing What You See! (Adults & Teens)
Alison Willse, Artist
Interested in learning traditional and alternative approaches to drawing? We’ll develop drawings with charcoal, pencil, pastels, oil pastels, and photographic images using still-life set-ups, self-portraits, or our imaginations as a subject. We’ll learn to weave collage, digital images, or image transfers into our work. You will come away with an understanding of basic drawing fundamentals and an encouragement to experiment. This class is for absolute beginners or those who wish to get back to their art. A materials list will be available for those with supplies or, if this is a new experience, the Studio will provide materials to get you started.
